Problem
Recruiting top talent for mission-driven roles can be time-consuming, especially when resources are limited in small organizations. Admins often juggle multiple tasks, all while seeking effective ways to attract candidates.
Solution
I designed tools designed to streamline recruiting for the social impact sector. From resume recommenders to responsive applicant tracking, each feature is built to support busy admins in managing their hiring goals more efficiently. I was the lead UI designer and Content Designer.
Key Features
Resume Recommender
We created the Resume Recommender to send curated candidate suggestions directly to employers, based on work history, skills, and other key factors. I designed the admin interface and a series of ads to prompt users to upload their resumes.
Applicant Tracking System
I manage the design of Idealist’s custom ATS, which allows employers to track applications directly on our site. The ATS is continuously improved based on user feedback; a recent update encourages job posters to ask questions instead of requiring cover letters, streamlining the process to help employers find the right fit more efficiently.
Onboarding and Support
As part of our marketing campaigns, I created an animated product video to help admins efficiently navigate the ATS and maximize its benefits. Our user research shows that clear, engaging support materials significantly boost tool adoption and user satisfaction.
Single-Screen Checkout
I redesigned the checkout flow to be simpler. It achieved a 10% one-minute completion rate—a 55% improvement—while maintaining an 86.97% conversion rate, streamlining the process for admins.
